Inside a Modern GMP Facility

The Production Line

Dispensing Accurately weighs each raw material and excipient to the batch formula inside a controlled dispensing booth.
High-Shear Mixer Rapidly blends API and excipients into a uniform powder and wet-masses it ready for granulation.
Granulator Converts fine powder into uniform granules to improve flowability and compressibility.
Fluid-Bed Dryer Dries wet granules to a target moisture with clean hot air; spray drying is sometimes used to form powders.
Blender Gently blends dried granules with lubricant and disintegrant into the final compression mix.
Tablet Press Compresses the final blend into tablets with controlled weight, hardness and thickness.
Coating Pan Sprays a thin film coat for protection, taste-masking, identity, or controlled release.
Blister Packing Seals tablets into blisters to guard against moisture and light and keep each dose intact.
Cartoner Packs blisters and leaflets into cartons and prints the batch number and serialization codes.
QC Lab Tests raw materials, in-process samples and finished product against specification before release.
